Introduction
Access to safe drinking water and maintaining adequate hydration are important aspects of everyday health. However, conventional water bottles generally lack integrated water quality monitoring, filtration status information, and smart hydration management.
HydraSense is a proposed IoT-based smart water bottle that aims to integrate water filtration, selected water quality measurements, hydration tracking, and mobile application connectivity into a portable system.
The project focuses on developing a practical, cost-effective prototype suitable for everyday use.
Key Features
1. Smart Water Filtration
A compact filtration mechanism intended to improve selected characteristics of water entering the bottle.
2. Water Quality Monitoring
Sensors are proposed to measure selected water quality parameters and provide useful information to the user.
3. Hydration Tracking
A mechanism to estimate the user’s water consumption and support daily hydration awareness.
4. Filter Usage Reminders
A reminder system to help users monitor filter usage and plan timely replacement.
5. Mobile Application Integration
A companion mobile application is planned to display sensor readings, hydration information, and reminders.
Solution Architecture
The proposed system consists of four main components:
- Water filtration unit
- Water quality and hydration monitoring sensors
- Microcontroller-based processing unit
- Mobile application
Sensor measurements will be processed by the microcontroller and made available through the user interface.
