Wedak.lk eliminates this friction by bringing both customers and verified workers into a single, transparent, and competitive marketplace.
How Our Platform Works
For Customers (Looking to Hire)
- Post a Job: Customers can easily describe what they need done, upload photos of the issue, set their location, and specify their budget.
- Receive Bids: Once the job is live on the platform, verified service providers in the area will submit competitive bids.
- Hire the Best: Customers can review each provider's profile, past ratings, and reviews to choose the perfect professional for the task.
- Secure Payment & Review: After the job is successfully completed, payments are handled securely. Customers then leave a review to help maintain the community's high standards.
For Service Providers (Looking to Earn)
- Get Verified: Professionals create a profile showcasing their skills and undergo a verification process (including National Identity Card checks) to ensure community safety.
- Find Work: Providers can browse a live, real-time feed of available jobs in their specific district or province.
- Submit Bids: Providers pitch their services directly to customers by submitting a bid with a personalized message.
- Build a Reputation: By successfully completing jobs and receiving high ratings, providers can grow their digital portfolio and attract more clients.
A Focus on Trust and Safety
Trust is the foundation of Wedak.lk. To protect our community, every user is required to verify their mobile phone number via an SMS code. Furthermore, all service providers must upload their government-issued IDs for manual verification before they are granted permission to bid on jobs.
About Our Codebase
Please Note: The source code available on our public GitHub repository represents an early, basic version of the Wedak.lk platform developed during the initial phases of our university project. It serves to showcase our foundational concepts and learning journey. The actual, production-ready codebase for the live Wedak.lk platform contains advanced features and is kept private.
