Visual perception:Structure and characteristics of the human eye; Light and the electromagnetic spectrum, Image sensing and acquisition,  Image sampling and quantization, Basic pixel relationships,  Linear and non-linear operations.

 Basic gray level transformations, Histogram processing, Arithmetic and Logic operations, Spatial filtering: Basics, Smoothing spatial filters, Sharpening spatial filters; Combining spatial enhancement methods.
